Emily Snell is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art currently based in Cornwall. Her 2D and 3D work explores our most immediate and intimate environment, the human body. Probing and investigative, Snell’s work lies within the in-between, transcending physical and emotional boundaries and often engaging in uncomfortable and disturbing relationships between the artist, object and viewer. In creating a visual and tactile environment which is both desirable and uncomfortable, Snell simultaneously evokes the opposing sensations of fascination and repulsion; factors that can attract and absorb us yet just as quickly reject and propel our curiosity.
